The Overdriver:Harp overdrive

The HarpBug  overdriver  by HarpBug  …is  a small vintage combo amp in a pedal.

The over Drive sounds and reacts like small vintage combos with nicely worn tubes and speakers and relies on a combination of Soft LED Clipping  to emulate an old Tube amplifier  similar to an old Supro of fender champ from the 1950s.

The Volume knob controls the overall volume without changing the distortion. The Drive knob varies the distortion complexity and saturation. The middle control adjusts the “tone ” of the EQ. Begin with this control at straight-up “noon.” To the right there is a subtle adjustment to the upper frequencies with the most treble at full clockwise. Turning this control counterclockwise from noon adds in lows and changes the distortion saturation interactively with the Drive knob. And at full counterclockwise, the overdriver  is fully bloated and saturated like a small combo pushed to its limit.

Please Note increasing the Drive will increase volume so you will need to adjust either volume control or drive & Tone accordingly to avoid feedback .

THE RATSPLAT:Optical compressor

IS a distortion-free optical compressor. What does a compressor do? A compressor "compresses" the signal your microphone produces and equalizes the dynamic range. The benefit of a compressor lies in that every note played will be at nearly the same amplitude, and therefore nearly equal in volume. This will help equalize tones that are sometimes lost in the mix because of complex overtones, and it will result in a more articulate sound. The Rat Splat  is an optical compressor, which makes it distortion-free. The addition of the VOLUME control allows the user to make up volume lost through compression. The RAT SPLAT is great for rock and blues rock. Sometimes it is hard to tell it is on, but you will miss it when it is off.

SETTINGS
The " SPLAT " control sets the amount of compression; the further you turn the control clockwise, the more compression. As you compress the signal the more the volume decreases, and you can turn the VOLUME control clockwise to replace the lost volume. Start with the VOLUME and SPLAT at 12:00  which will provide for a moderate amount of compression and approximately the same volume when the pedal is placed in and out of bypass. The pedal can be placed at or near the front of your pedal train; it will work in various places, and the best place is really up to the user.

POWER
The RAT SPLAT runs off a  9V DC power adapter.  The AC adapter requirements are a 9V DC with a minimum 100mA output and a 2.1mm x 5.5mm connector with a negative center surrounded by a positive outside.
